producer: a living thing that makes its own food
consumer: a living thing that cannot make food, but it eats food
predator: an animal that hunts another animal for food (lions, tigers, sharks)
prey: an animal that is hunted for food (mice, small birds, insects)
food chain: Plants use air, sunlight, and water to make food. Animals eat the plants for food. Then other animals eat those animals. This is called a food chain.
food web: A food web is made up of the food chains in a habitat. For example, sun helps corn grow. Mice eat the corn. An eagle eats the mice.
