Updated Weekly During the School Year!

Week of October 5, 2026

Please read and check the school calendar for activities, events, and information that is happening each month. It is a great resource for planning ahead. This is a four day week. Next week too!

Breakfast

As the kinks are still being worked out, it is my understanding that students will now be picking up breakfast on the first floor. The food truck will no longer be outside. If students want breakfast, they will need to enter the building at 7:40 to pick it up before coming to class. Thanks.

Picture Day 

Wednesday is individual picture day. Students should wear their school uniform for these pictures. There will be a different day scheduled for casual dress pictures. That date is to be determined.

Pink N. U. T. Day

Thursday is a N. U. T. Day. If your child is going to participate, they should wear pink and donate $1 or more. Donations to benefit Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Please help if you can. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Professional Day

There is no school on Friday. Please mark your calendars.

Early Dismissal 

Friday is a half day. Dismissal is at 11:10. Students who attend EDP on this day will need to bring their own lunch from home. School lunch will not be provided.

Week of September 21, 2026

Thank you to those who attended Back to School Night. It was nice to meet and talk with you. I hope I answered any questions you may have had about this school year. I am glad you got to come see the classroom where your child spends most of their time. Please check out the new tab on my teacher page about grading.

Band Registration 

If your child is going to participate in band lessons, please submit the registration form. Remember, lessons are after school on Thursdays and Grade 1 learns the violin. 

Registration forms are due by Tuesday, September 22.

N.U.T. Day Service Project

Friday is a N.U.T.(No Uniform Today)Day. If your child is going to participate, the cost is $1 or more. Proceeds will benefit Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Please send in your donation with your child this morning. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to our second week of school! I hope your first week of school was a good one.

Thank You

Thank you for purchasing all the school supplies for your child and the classroom. We use them everyday.

Paperwork

Thank you to those who have completely filled out and  returned the Student Information Sheet, the Student/Parent Handbook Contract, and the Diversity Survey. If you have not they are now overdue. Please return them promptly. Your child’s emergency information is needed.

Gym Days

Please have your child dress in their gym uniform on gym days. Sneakers are worn on these days. You may notice from my teacher page that we will have gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

School Uniforms

Please remember that students should come to school in their uniforms everyday unless it is a scheduled N.U.T. Day. Boys and girls should wear dark school shoes(blue or black). Girls should wear navy blue knee socks with their jumper/dress. Leggings are not part of the school uniform. Sneakers are for gym days. Please take advantage of the uniform exchange days if you need help in this matter. Thank you. 

Band

Students who are interested in learning how to play the violin may sign up for lessons through Paul Effman Music. Registration forms and payment information will be sent home this week. Lessons are after school on Thursdays.

Back to School Night

Thursday is Back to School Night for parents only. It begins at 6:30. Our class is located on the second floor, Room 13. Hope to see you!

Welcome Back to School!

Week of September 8, 2026

Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Miss Gaudet. I will be your child’s first grade teacher.

At the beginning of the year, there is a lot of information to relay to you. The first couple of weeks, these posts will seem long. As we move forward, hopefully there won’t be so much information to read. I thank you for your patience as we get all the important things to you in hopes for a smooth transition to grade 1. Please let me know if you have any questions after reading this weekly post.

School Hours

*Arrival-7:40.

*Dismissal-2:00.

*Early Dismissal Days-11:10.

*First Day of School Dismissal-11:10. No EDP Today.

*EDP Begins September 9, 2025.

Parent Action Needed

Be sure to read and act upon any notices that are sent home. Please fill out all the necessary paperwork completely and return them to school promptly. If something is not applicable, please write N/A. These papers will come home throughout the first week of school. Thank you for attending to these matters.

Medical Information

Please let the nurse and myself know of any medical needs or issues concerning your child. This must be updated every new school year. Thank you.

Uniforms

Be sure to read the uniform policy and have your child come to school dressed appropriately while following the school’s dress code. Dark shoes are part of the uniform. Sneakers are only to be worn on gym days. If you need help, please take advantage of the uniform swap. Thank you very much.

Dismissal Procedure

Please allow all students to file out of the building with the class. For the safety of students, you will need to wait until each student is dismissed individually by the teacher. I kindly ask that you be patient at dismissal time during the first few weeks of school. It will take me some time to learn and match up children with the correct parent or guardian. Thank you for your help with this process.

Extended Day Program

If your child is going to attend EDP, please let me know the days he or she will attend. That way I will be sure to dismiss your child correctly. Registration forms must be filled out for your child to attend. They are posted on the Cheverus Website. If you have any questions, you can contact Ms. MaryBeth Leon. Daily Snack

Please pack a small, healthy snack. Please also pack an extra small bottle of water just in case your child needs it throughout the day. Please leave the large stainless steel bottles for home or weekend use. Thank you. 

Lunch

Your child will need to know if they will be receiving a school lunch or if they have one from home.
