Hello 8th grade parents!
I hope you and the family have been enjoying the summer. I wanted to send you a couple of announcements so that you and your 8th grader will be ready for our first day on Tuesday, September 2nd.
1. The first day is a half day with dismissal at 11:20. 8th graders are allowed to be dismissed at the end of the school day without a parent present so have a discussion with your 8th grader on where he/she should go at 11:20 if you are not picking them up.
2. I am hosting a special back to school night for 8th grade parents on the night of Sept. 2nd at 6:30 in my classroom on the third floor. It is important that you attend as I will be going over important information about the year and about high school. If you cannot attend, please let me know so I can make you a copy of my entire presentation. The night should end around 7:00pm. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions as well.
3. Supplies need to be brought in on the first day as this will be the only day where time will be provided for supplies to be organized and put away in lockers and closets. Please purchase everything on the supply list. All materials we listed are needed. If you need that list again please email me and I will send it to you. 4. All students should complete their summer reading. Mrs. Jackson will be doing an assessment the first week of school. Summer reading list is on Mrs. Jackson's webpage. https://www.cheverusschool.com/summer-reading
5. Please bookmark my webpage. Monthly updates, homework, and tests will be posted on my webpage so it is important that you bookmark it. https://www.cheverusschool.com/ms-sandra-malatesta
6. Lastly, if you are already stressing about high school, don't. I will be with you helping you all along the way. More on that later.
