WASHINGTON D.C. APRIL 27-APRIL 30
COST $1325 (includes breakfast, dinner and all entry costs to museums, etc.)
DEPOSIT DUE NOVEMBER 1st!!!Hello 8th grade parents!
1. As stated above, the cost of the D.C. trip is $1325. This includes cost of the bus to be with us the entire 4 days, hotel, breakfast, dinners, and entry fees to all museums. Students will need to bring cash for lunch every day. A deposit of $300 (non-refundable) will be due by November 1. Your 8th grader received the permission slip/deposit slip last month.
2. After school clubs are beginning this week. We have Chess Club on Tuesdays starting tomorrow for the 8th graders. We have yearbook club starting this Thursday for the 8th graders, too.
Some teachers have asked for 8th grade volunteers to help out with the lower grade clubs on Tuesdays which will count as service hours. Ask your 8th grader if they are helping with that. It begins tomorrow.
3. Picture Day is this Wednesday, the 8th. All students received their order forms in their mailboxes on Friday. This picture is in uniform.
4. Mrs. Hanley has planned a wonderful religious field trip in relation to the Jubilee year. All permission slips and $8 bus fee were due last week. If you have not turned those in, please do so as soon as possible.
5. The PTA has generously paid for each 8th grader to receive a special Cheverus hoodie where they have their signatures on the back of the sweatshirt. It will take a few weeks for those to come. The students all picked their size last week. Thank you to the PTA for their generosity.
6. You should be planning to attend open houses at the various high schools. Shadow days also are very important. Remember, to tell me if your child is attending a shadow day so they are not counted as absent.
7. FACTS financial aid should be open this week. Please be sure to complete this for the high schools you are planning to attend. One form gets filled out and sent to the high schools you choose. Prep schools have their own financial aid system. Please check with those schools about that.
8. Any student requesting high school recommendations from any teacher, needs to have this request in no later than December 1st.
9. We have a Halloween dance scheduled for October 24. Permission slips are being sent home today. Costume is encouraged but not required.
10. Our popcorn fundraiser will take place the first week in November. Stay tuned for more info on that. I will take care of that fundraiser with your 8th grader.
