Dear Cheverus Families,
I hope you all enjoyed a restful summer with your loved ones whether at home or on vacation. Here at Cheverus we have been busy as we prepare for the return of our most precious blessing, your children. As veteran staff get ready for another school year, we also are happy to welcome some new faces to the Cheverus family. Below you will find details on new staff members as well as organizational changes.
Additionally, several facility improvements have been completed, and some are still in progress. While all these changes are exciting and enhance the student experience, the most important aspect remains that your students are in a safe and nurturing environment where they are allowed to grow emotionally and academically.
Our main building sprinklers will be completed by the start of school. This project includes the addition of 5 classrooms at our basement level, which has been unused since 2019. The basement level will be ready in November, at which time we will add a 4th Pre-K homeroom to accommodate families on the waitlist. Eventually, this space will enable us to welcome 100 additional students. The playground turf project began August 18th and should be ready for the start of school. This will not only be aesthetically pleasing but, more importantly, create a safer and more suitable area for our students to exercise and interact through play. Now that the construction on the 3rd floor is complete, we are preparing for the transition of the computer lab into our new STREAM lab (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, Math). This will offer students an opportunity for a hand-on approach to learning.
We are thrilled to welcome you all to what we anticipate to be another amazing school year. I encourage you all to attend our school events, volunteer for the PTA, and attend some of our basketball games with your children. While we are here to educate the children, the community of Cheverus enriches the experience and allows you all to be part of something very special. We all thank you for choosing Cheverus and look forward to a productive and enjoyable school year.
